Engineering 2016, Volume 2, Issue 4,   Pages 490-497 doi: 10.1016/J.ENG.2016.04.003

Abstract:

The first author proposed the concept of the cemented material dam (CMD) in 2009.This concept was aimed at building an environmentally friendly dam in a safer and more economical wayfor both the dam and the area downstream. The concept covers the cemented sand, gravel, and rock dam (CSGRD), the rockfill concrete (RFC) dam (or the cemented rockfill dam, CRD), and the cemented soil dam (CSD).

Lei Zheng, Xingbao Gao, Wei Wang, Zifu Li, Lingling Zhang, Shikun Cheng

Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering 2020, Volume 14, Issue 1, doi: 10.1007/s11783-019-1184-6

Abstract: Washed MSWI fly ash was used as partial cement or sand substitute.Sand replacing is beneficial for strength, while cement replacement reduces strength.Health risk assessment was conducted for MSWI fly ash blended cement mortar.strength increases when the fly ash is blended as sand substitute. The k values of fly ash used for sand replacement were all significantly above that used for cement substitution

Frontiers of Structural and Civil Engineering 2022, Volume 16, Issue 9,   Pages 1196-1211 doi: 10.1007/s11709-022-0865-6

Abstract: Sandy gravel foundations exhibit non-linear dynamic behavior when subjected to strong ground motions,Grouting methods can be used to improve the seismic performance of natural sandy gravel foundations. The strength and stiffness of grouted sandy gravel foundations are different from those of natural foundationsFew studies have investigated the seismic behavior of sandy gravel foundations before and after groutingThis demonstrated that different grouting reinforcement strategies are required for different sandy gravel
